Red Fabric by the Yard

Red fabric spans one of the most visually powerful and historically loaded colour families in residential design — from warm vermilion and coral-red through classic crimson and scarlet to deep burgundy and oxblood. At The WorkRoom, our red fabric collection covers the full red spectrum in printed, woven, velvet, linen, and performance constructions from the world's leading luxury brands.

Red in an Interior

Red is the most energetically activating colour in the interior palette — physiologically stimulating, emotionally warming, and visually commanding in a way that no other colour quite replicates. Its use in residential design requires confidence and intentionality, but when deployed well, red creates rooms of extraordinary presence and memorability. Traditional red — crimson damask, red lacquer, red library — is one of the most enduring design traditions in British and American formal interior design: rooms of absolute presence and timeless correctness. Contemporary red — a single oxblood velvet sofa in an otherwise neutral room, or a red performance fabric accent chair in a family space — achieves the same visual authority with more restraint. Burgundy and oxblood are the most versatile end of the red spectrum — dark enough to read as near-neutral in certain lights while retaining the warmth and richness that pure neutral fabrics cannot achieve.
