Use this calculator for wallpaper sold by the roll. It helps estimate roll quantity based on wall width, wall height, roll size, pattern repeat, match type, and waste.
Best for: most designer wallpapers and standard roll goods.

How to Measure for Wallpaper
What measurements do I need?

Doors/windows (optional—installers often prefer not subtracting these)
Should I subtract doors and windows?
Most installers do not subtract doors/windows because:

Do some items have minimums or increments?
Yes. Many manufacturers require minimums (for example, 2-roll minimums or 10-yard minimums/increments). Minimums and increments are noted on product pages where applicable.
Why do minimums exist?
Minimums are set by the manufacturer and may be required due to:

Wallpaper and many textiles can vary slightly by dye lot. Ordering everything together helps ensure consistency across your installation.

Do you recommend professional installation?
Yes. Wallpaper installation—especially grasscloth, natural fibers, or specialty textures—should be done by a professional installer.
