A warp print such as Peacock Society demands the utmost precision. The design is initially printed on very fine threads. This process requires extreme manual dexterity, because the designs must not overlap. The slightly blurry appearance that gives a relaxed elegance to the pattern repeat, despite its floral intensity, is caused by warping the threads during weaving. The high density of the polyester warp creates the incredibly silky and compact feel of the cloth. The pattern repeat is a creative journey into the flora and fauna of the imagination, in which proportions are reversed. Flowers, peacocks, butterflies and palm fronds sport merrily with orchids and camellias on a rich blue background. The individual elements in the design are continually superimposed on each other, giving the fabric a subtly three-dimensional effect.
