Order Fabric and Wallpaper Samples Online
Choosing the right luxury fabric or wallpaper begins with seeing the material in your own space. The WorkRoom makes it easy to order fabric samples, wallpaper samples and trim samples from many of the world’s leading designer brands before purchasing full-size yardage or rolls.
A sample allows you to examine the color, pattern, texture, scale and material in person. Because colors can appear differently on computer screens, tablets and mobile devices, we strongly recommend ordering a sample before placing your final fabric or wallpaper order.
How to Order Fabric and Wallpaper Samples
When a sample is available, use the product-page dropdown menu to select Swatch instead of Yard, then add the sample to your cart. Samples are $5 each, with a limit of 18 samples per order and one sample per pattern.
Sample fees help cover the materials, processing, handling and shipping required by each brand. Sample fees are non-refundable once an available sample has been processed and shipped.
The size and format of each fabric or wallpaper sample are determined by the manufacturer. Samples are pre-cut and cannot be customized or requested in a specific size. Depending on the brand and product, you may receive a small swatch, memo sample or representative cutting.
Free Sample Shipping Within the United States
Sample orders include complimentary standard shipping within the United States. Samples are not available for international shipping at this time.
All samples ship directly from the individual fabric or wallpaper brand. If you order samples from multiple manufacturers, they will arrive in separate packages and may be delivered on different days.
Most samples arrive within 7–10 business days. Some brands ship samples by USPS First Class Mail, which may not include tracking. Tracking information will be provided when it is made available by the manufacturer.
Backordered Fabric and Wallpaper Samples
Sample availability is controlled by each manufacturer and can change after an order is placed. If a requested sample is backordered, the sample charge will be refunded.
When the brand produces more sample stock, the backordered sample will be shipped to you at no additional cost. You will not be charged again for the sample or its shipping.
Because sample replenishment dates are determined by the manufacturer, an estimated delivery date may not always be available.
Products That Do Not Have Samples
Pindler samples are not available due to Pindler’s sample policy.
Samples are also unavailable for outlet items, discontinued products, clearance merchandise and other limited-stock fabrics, wallpapers or trims. These products may have insufficient remaining inventory for the manufacturer to cut a sample, and the item could sell out while a sample is in transit.
If a sample option does not appear on the product page, the manufacturer may not offer samples for that item.
Samples Are Yours to Keep
Fabric, wallpaper and trim samples do not need to be returned. Occasionally, a manufacturer may include a return envelope, return label or printed return instructions with a sample. These materials may be disregarded unless The WorkRoom contacts you with different instructions.
Understanding Color and Dye-Lot Variations
A sample is intended to represent the product’s general color, pattern, texture and construction. The final material may come from a different production run or dye lot, so slight color variations can occur. These natural variations are not considered defects.
For fabrics currently in stock, a cutting for approval may be available before the order ships. Cuttings for approval may also be available for select Phillip Jeffries natural wallcoverings. A cutting for approval is taken from the merchandise reserved for your order and is different from a standard sample.
