Located in Los Angeles, Rose Tarlow is a renowned design brand that features an ample catalog of furniture, home accessories, leathers, lighting fixtures, rugs, textiles, and wallcoverings, with a unique old-world sophistication made relevant for our time. It was founded in 1976 as an antique shop that offered eclectic pieces that were collected around the world. A few years later Mrs. Tarlow started designing her lines of furniture and accessories that would fit in the most luxurious homes. In 1997, Rose designed the first collection of textiles that would coordinate with her furniture. Nowadays her catalog features proprietary leathers, trims and wall coverings available through showrooms in Australia, United Kingdom, and the USA. Rose Tarlow’s furniture line includes beds, cabinets, outdoor pieces, seating options, and tables. The collection of home accessories includes art, decorative objects, mirrors, and throws and blankets. Rose collaborates with exceptional artisans and craftsmen to create pieces that are usable, comfortable, and beautiful. As each stage of production is done by hand, no two pieces are ever completely alike, thus guaranteeing that each one is unique.

The production process starts with Mrs. Tarlow’s vision for a design and then is personally attended through several stages, from detailed sketches to hand-cleaning and antiquing. Layers of different finishes are applied according to the customer’s preference. Base cloths are meticulously inspected before printing, textile weaves are rewoven, ceramic glazes are applied and reapplied to achieve the exact variation in shade. Rose and her team keep personally supervise the different stages of production to assure a high level of quality. Her philosophy of original design, charming eccentricity and uncompromising quality is still true as in the first days of the opening of her shop in Melrose Avenue many years ago.
