Twill Textiles

twill textiles

Twill Textiles was founded in 2004, as a collaborative effort between Suzanne Lovell, a Chicago-based interior design company, and Sam Kasten, an American master handweaver. Suzanne and Sam wanted to create a collection of sophisticated home furnishings textiles that could translate the beauty of traditional, artisanal, hand-woven techniques to machine-woven fabrics. By sharing their mutual talents, they were able to produce a line of 20 fabrics featuring diverse patterns and colors, thoughtfully reinterpreted for mill production. Twill Textiles source its yarns from European mills known for their great quality and environmentally-friendly procedures. At Inside Stores, we carry the complete collection of Twill Textiles fabric, trims and furniture.  Please contact us for pricing or product information. Request a quote.

As a result of the great acceptance of the initial collection, Twill also acquired the rights to the Q collection and can now offer new patterns in its catalog. Continuing its collaborative spirit, Twill partnered with renowned screen printing artisan, Peter Fasano, to take this concept in a novel direction. The project started using 4 of the brand's woven patterns and created 6 unique prints to add to the collection. Each pattern is designed and then printed by hand in 5 different colorways on a 100% Belgian linen ground cloth.

Sam Kasten has been producing innovative products since the 1970s, selecting and weaving only the finest materials such as cashmere, linen, mohair, and silk. Kasten’s designs are simple and elegant woven structures that create elegant and timeless textiles well suited for high-end decorative projects. World-renowned architects and designers have looked for Mr. Kasten's expertise to create textiles required for their customers. Some of these names are Billy Baldwin, Calvin Tsao, David Easton, Thierry Despont, and Victoria Hagan, among many others. Rose Tarlow Melrose House has curated the Twill Textiles collection combining classic patterns with a cool, neutral color palette.
